Unilever Research Fellow

Dr. William Fleming

Dr. William Fleming is the Unilever Research Fellow at the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford. William’s research area is work and wellbeing: how work is better or worse for us, and how it might be improved. He especially focuses on workplace interventions, what works, what doesn’t work and why.

Before taking up his current post, he completed a PhD in the Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge, conducting an explicitly sociological evaluation of workplace wellbeing practices and narratives. He also shortly held a role as a postdoctoral Research Associate for the NIHR ARC East of England (Department of Psychiatry, University of Cambridge), exploring digital transformation and co-production in public mental health services. He maintains an interest in these topics.

William’s research has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, New Scientist, and more.

The Unilever Research Fellowship is supported by Unilever plc.
